Twinkling

Twinkling above
see below
the comfort arises never too low
far away the twilight stays
forever tomorrow until she dies

Around her the small ones,
the dear ones
they all gather
wondering why she does not share
the endearing love that she holds
down in the deepness so dark and tranquil

There is no more sadness
but only gladness

Gentle

On the water so still
the dream faded
and into the darkness
the fear took hold.

And the life was taken
inside we know
but do not remember
the source of kindness
and gentle joy.

Look around,
be found
sit in stillness
life moving all around
until we trust
to join the crowd.

Alone

Alone she welcomed
Alone she is held
Alone she thrives

Together we rise
Together we love
Together we nurture

We are the ones
We are the lovelies
We are the anomalies

Firefly

I dare not blunder
the pain, the wonder
go here go there
into the night,
the dark, dark night
and wonder if
the fireflies know
where the children take them
not malicious
but delicious
is their laughter forever after.

Confusion

Confusion
anger
lonesome being

Fearful
shaking
never breaking

Some smile
only when greed lurks
beneath the surface
grasping
growling

Some give
only for the glory
boasting the story
of a light falsely glowing

Some serve
only to avoid the torture
with fear and indenture
never given, only taken

Some awaken
only to a glaring solitude
of the unforsaken
numbing dose of lies

Some seek to fix
only to damage beyond repair
by taking the very substance
of which helps us dance

Some laugh
only to hide
the seeking
of connection
and yearning of affection

Beginning

Sunrise over the water
Sunrise above the clouds
as I travel here to this moment
leaving it all behind.

Never wanting
only being as we are
celebrating the sunshine
and the moonshine
and the tiny me inside

As we travel as giants
stretching, reaching,
near and far.

Embracing our togetherness
as a forest longing for visitors
and as givers are we
feeling like an empty page.

Doing

I am doing my best
to be wild and free
full of joy
full of a freedom to dance.

To breathe
to walk
to glide

Wild enough to take the next step
Wild enough to stomp and shout
Wild enough to never give up.

Never give up my best
even if it’s simple “hello”
even if it’s saying good bye
even if I don’t know what is the best.

I am full of enough to share
enough to give
enough to keep
enough to adore.

I am doing my best to be wild and free
as if nobody’s watching.

Bloom

I am able to bloom because
the earth holds me in her arms
as gentle as an early morning dew.

The droplets nourish me
and if I choose
I peek around the outer layers
and embrace not one
but many lives
in wonder and awe

Trusting the new beginnings
as petals fall
as colors fade.

As seasons change
and I remember
the beauty of a bloom
and the lingering fragrance
of my life well lived.

Joy

Breathe in. Breathe out.
Look up to the sky
Be with it all no matter how small.

We care and we share
but do we dare
Dare to laugh when it seems so sad.

Wonder why
Be curious
not shy.

Open the door and wave, “Hi”
Smile at the frown
Smile at the lonely one.

Share a bite
Share a coin
Share the words
The words long lost.

Be the brightest
(or not)
Simply ask why, why, why.
Why the sadness
Why NOT the joy?

Remember the toy
played with joy
even if it was only a box

Be a kitten
Be a child
Be the one to find and discover.
