Delight

I delight in the silence of being here in the comfort of home.
A home shared with dear and loving companions.
Companions that I’ve promised to care for and love.

I delight in knowing we have found one another, you and I.
We bring each other up in a true and loving light.

I delight in the subtleness of the air
moving through the leaves and grass on a calm day.

I delight in sunshine and moonshine but mostly sunshine
The warm rays of the sun on my face and how,
on spring days, my car warms like a summer day.

I delight in greeting Ellie, Wilson and Tiramisu
and how they return the greetings.

I delight in the ability to write words of expression
and to transfer thoughts onto paper or screen.

I delight in the flavor of the tomato basil soup.

I delight in seeing the world move along
in a continuum of all that is.

DELIGHT. DE – LIGHT.

Mercy On My Mistakes

Let them say she seemed to slowly disappear and we did not know her in her later years.

Let them say she stood up for them when they needed a strong one to be there.

Let them say she tried to care but didn’t quite know how.

Let them say she let others shine bright and preferred not to compete.

Let them say she learned and tried and in the end gave up.

Let them say she enjoyed the sunrise and the sunset.

Let them say she never seemed to like herself very much but encourage others to love themselves as they are.

Let them say she was once a daughter and a mother and a wife and a person who insisted we are all one.

Let them say she went along for the ride and laughed and sang and danced and cried.

Let them say she wanted to move on with joy and encourage all to treat all with kindness.

Let them say she loved to fill the page with words.

The Party Down Under

Over there where the kids’ section

rolls along like a song in the daily sunshine

disjointed colors sounding still

against the stillness

overwhelmed with sadness

of love and hope

On the slanted songe we whisper

to hang on and know

there is a calm river

to transport us to the underworld

The party down under

Graceful Knowing

Stretch the expansion
filled with trembling wonder
peering here
not there
and welcoming the eyes so kind.

We see, we know, we also might glow
and in the frontiers of kindness
may we find another and another
see them as they are,
just so.
Envelope the kindness
and wish them well.

For the children may not know the care–
only the dare.
Dare not ask for it shall not be
wait, wait my dear for it is clear
you are the wonder
and the ever sparkling continuum
of everlasting, undefined brilliance
of graceful knowing.

Angels Coming Near

In the swirling
etheric nothingness
retains a peaceful dwelling
of urchins once sad.

Twinkle twinkle little star
swing, sing loud and clear
next to the garden sown with sorrow.

Hiding in the crumbling teepee
she sat so still
there could only be
angels coming near.

Be Still

Emerald green
the name is seen
calmly hovering in the sky
looking east then west
where does it go and why?
Questions linger and we are but still
even if the dark instills
numbers counting ever crying
we need to say no,
feel sad,
be quiet,
be still.

Always Near

Strong stand the branches
Deep dive the roots
Gentle the manner
Waiting, waiting
for her gentle song
the gift so loving
the receipt so longing
See the waiting surprise my dear
for we are with you
and always near.

– A message from the trees

Enjoying Tea

As I sit here
enjoying tea
thinking about you and me
Why do the stars stay in the sky
I know not why
Perhaps to be and be
Not to shine but to dance and sparkle
And when we see them
They see us
And in the beginning
We were all dust

What I Thought I Lost

One day, long ago,
I thought I lost my daughter.
And then she appeared in the sky
And again as an angel
And again
And again
And again.

She taught me so much
about here now and after.

Loss is a gift
and will be forever.

For nothing truly disappears.
It simply takes a different form
and blesses us all if we allow it.

Stay open even with your eyes closed
for when our eyes are closed
is when we truly see.
